      VISCONTI PONTEVECCHIO
      SKYBLUE
      BALL PEN
       The
Ponte Vecchio is as much a symbol of

      Florence

       as
Michelangelo's David or the dome of the Duomo. The Ponte Vecchio bridge
was built in 1345 and has undergone only minor change in 650 years.

      In
the 1500's the rows of small houses on each side of the bridge became home
to over 40 goldsmiths practicing traditional Florentine skills in which
many of the finest Renaissance artists had been trained.
To this day, the crafts of world renown artisans are still
      available on the Ponte Vecchio.

      Beautiful
      celluloid

      With
the Ponte Vecchio writing collection, Visconti is featuring three
magnificient celluloid colours, each highlighted by a different finish to
celebrate the achievements of the Ponte Vecchio craftsmen - a matte gold
finish on the Adriatic Stone, a glossy gold finish on the Pompeii Blue and
a platinum finish on the Silver Granite.

      The
band and the clip are engraved to honour Benvenuto Cellini, the most
revered Florentine goldsmith whose statue stands at the center of the
      bridge.

      Visconti
is traditionally linked to its city of origin

      Florence
      ,
      Italy

      .
      In

      Florence

      . a city which
      closely guards its traditions.  Visconti
could only produce celluloid, a material which has lived through the
golden of the fountain pen from 1920 to 1950, and which is perfect for its
purpose, being hand crafted, ink resistant and the only material available
      in all color combinations.  In
fact, Visconti is a trend setter by being the first contemporary company
to re-apply the art and beauty of celluloid pens.
Celluloid is not derived from petroleum, but from cellulose and
      camphor.  This ecologically
sound aspect renders it very up to date.
It is not molded like modern plastics, but can only be worked
manually, turning piece after piece.  Every
pen made, therefore, has its own little story which is born from its
initial cutting until its final assembly.
