Sailor Limited Edition King of Pens Maki-e Youkou Fountain Pen

Nature has always provided us with some spectacular images and colors. The different colour appearance parameters and shades of light have inspired artistic impression for generations. Wataru Kurotobi, the Urushi Maki-e Artist has drawn such inspiration from his studies of the life-giving sunlight.
The Sailor limited Edition You-Kou fountain pen has captured the artwork's variation of colour, light and shade.
For this pen, firstly several base coats of Yellow Urushi laquer are applied at the Naka nuri stage and polished before the addition of selected gold leaf. Then more viscous yellow Urushi is applied and the wave patterns formed at the Uwa –nuri stage.
