Sailor Limited Edition King of Pens (KOP) Wabi Sabi III Irogasane Sabinuri Red Fountain Pen
Sailor Limited Edition King of Pens (KOP) Wabi Sabi III Irogasane Sabinuri Red Fountain Pen
The last of the Wabi Sabi collection. This oversized Sailor 1911 King of Pens Wabi Sabi fountain pen features a textured blue urushi lacquered ebonite cap, barrel and grip section, using the Urushi technique of 'Irogasane Sabinuri'. It comes equipped with Sailor's legendary Two-Tone 21k gold nib in the massive King of Pens size.
Wabi Sabi is a special spiritual concept from ancient Japan. ‘Wabi’ is the feeling in the heart of calmness, of quiet, and of simple appearance. ‘Sabi’ is the visual beauty of things humble, unconventional, and unrefined. ‘Wabi Sabi’ combines the spirit and concepts of both these values. It represents the beautiful and appreciation of things impermanent and imperfect; the acceptance of the "flow of life".
A Japanese concept that objects gain in value and beauty through use and wear. Some Japanese artists take this concept to the next level by intentionally aging and distressing materials to give the impression of use and wear - such is the case with the pens in this new Wabi Sabi series from Sailor, produced by artist Wayo Shimamuri in precise and painstaking Irogosane Sabinuri technique.
Part of Sailor's exclusive Bespoke Collection, the Sailor King of Pen Wabi Sabi III Red has been produced in just 50 numbered pieces worldwide.
