Montblanc Patron of Art Collection pays tribute to Publius Aelius Hadrianus (AD 76 – 138), or Hadrian. who inherited control of the Roman Empire in AD 117.
Hadrian was an emperor of the Roman Empire from the years 117-138. A powerful ruler who was committed to strengthening the Empire. Hadrian oversaw several important building projects, including the Temple of Venus and Roma and Hadrian's Wall in northern Britain.
The pen's cap and barrel are made of Egyptian basalt (volcanic stone) , and the Montblanc emblem on the cap crown is in black and white precious resin. The yellow gold coated clip designed in the shape of a sheaf of wheat and the handcrafted 18-karat gold nib is embellished with an apropos engraving.
The pattern on top ring and the cone ring is decorated with reference to the Roman god Janus. The gold-coated cap ring features two detailed crafted medallions representing the Greek hero Antinous and an artistic representation of Medusa with words engraved on the cap and cone ring from Historia Augusta.
The fountain pen is limited to 4810 pieces with piston filling and an 18K handcrafed gold nib.
