Overview
The
theme of the design is from Puccini's famous opera "Madam
Butterfly". It is a tragic
love story between Madam Butterfly and an American naval officer.
She sang touching "They say that the ship will arrive when the
cherry tree blooms" (it is written in Japanese on the back of the cap.)
The officer finally arrived again but this time with his wife.
The meeting made the madam so sad that she killed herself to end the
tragedy.

Maki-E
is an ancient 1000 year old Japanese art form.
It is very valuable and should be handled with care at all times.
The entire process of Maki-E requires two to six months or more to
complete.
