WISDOM, in ancient Greek tradition, was a woman called Sophia. To celebrate
intelligence and writing as a symbol of wisdom, renowned Italian pen
manufacturer Montegrappa has introduced its Sophia limited edition pens.
Sophia pens come in sterling silver cap and are decorated using the
technique of burin engraving, with applications of 18K yellow and pink gold.
The barrel of the pen pays tribute to classical Greece and philosophy. It
shows examples of Coptic writing and a detail of artist Raphael’s wall
painting ‘The School of Athens’. Each Sophia limited edition pen is
presented in a casket, shaped in the form of a book.
