		The father of
psychoanalysis was interested in looking at the origins of human
behavior through the prism of sexual drives. His process of using what
he called “the talking cure” helped people to admit the truth about
themselves and heal psychological wounds. His body of work remains both
influential and controversial a century later. The Freud Limited Edition
is an absolutely stunning and unique writing instrument. The abalone cap
is exposed through a sterling silver overlay, which reflects the
dendrite tree of a neuron. The clip has a unique shape and inlay
comprised of sterling silver and bronze. At the top of the cap is a coin
with an image of the union of man and woman. The finely detailed
hand-painted montage on the abalone barrel, reflect many of the aspects
of Freud’s “The Interpretation of Dreams”. The young girl with her arms
resting on the moon is symbolic of dreams. The image of the baby in the
foreground is a metaphor for a human’s sexual awakening. From an actual
statue in Greece, stands the man with wings, better known as Eros, the
God of Love. A nude woman posed as the Statue of Liberty is a figurative
representation of the sexual undertones affecting society. A train
coming out of the tunnel depicts Freud’s classic sexuality dream
sequence. The Fountain pen is enhanced with an 18kt gold nib.
