Sailor Pen announce the arrival of the latest Limited Edition series 
		-"The Creatures of the Deep"
		This series of Marine creatures symbolizes the significance of marine 
		life to the natural environment and to humankind everywhere. Our planet 
		"Earth" is a 'planet of water' - The many vast oceans cover most of the 
		earth's surface reaching depths of up to several miles. Hidden beneath 
		the waves is an extraordinary collection of marine creatures, some more 
		familiar to us, but many more mysterious and often dangerous. 
		
		
		The Oceans support beautiful, colorful and fascinating life forms. The 
		varied marine species coexists together in harmony providing mankind 
		with a natural wonderland to discover, protect and hopefully preserve 
		for future generations. The collection will include 10 marine creatures 
		– each one delicately hand decorated in traditional Japanese MAKI-E 
		techniques by the famous artist and craftsman Mr. Koushu Nishihara. Each 
		will be produced in a signed and numbered limited edition series of only 
		88 pieces worldwide. 
		
		The colorful designs will be applied to the Classic Sailor 1911 product, 
		'specially developed' to allow full appreciation of the MAKI-E design 
		and specially fitted with a 21K solid gold nib giving absolute writing 
		perfection. The retail price is $1200.00. With this level of

		Urushi Lacquer 
		Artist Mr. Koushu Nishihara 
		
		Mr. Koushu Nishihara was born into a family of 'Butsudan' MAKI-E artists 
		in Hiroshima Japan, and he has lived with, and worked in the traditional 
		Japanese Art of MAKI-E design all of his life. During his training in 
		the Wajima Urushi Lacquer Institute of Art in Ishikawa, he has mastered 
		the traditional Japanese Urushi Lacquer Art from the famous master Mr. 
		Masato Ikawa and Mr. Chokou Watabe. Mr. Nishihara who resides in the 
		Hiroshima region of Japan started working with MAKI-E designs on 
		Sailor’s fountain pens in 2002. He maintains the Japanese traditional 
		techniques and yet he does not hesitate where necessary to bring new 
		youthful ideas into the art of MAKI-E. Many of his original and 
		imaginative works of Art are exhibited in Traditional Urushi Lacquer Art
