		Pelikan Evolution of Script

Only with the invention of writing were legends and histories finally
able to be preserved intact for future generations. Pelikan celebrates
this monumental evolution in human civilization with a pen inspired by
various early forms of language. The high-grade resin cap is flush with
cave painting motifs, and the lacquer-embellished, gold-plated barrel
reveals hieroglyphics from Egypt, Mesopotamian cuneiform, and Greek
alphabet, the point of departure for European scripts. Each form is
separated by gold-plated rings. The design embossed on the nib is
repeated in high relief upon the clip. This limited edition of 930
recalls the first European adaptation of the Phoenician alphabet, which
occurred in Crete circa 930 B.C. The edition number is engraved on the
filling knob end, and each exclusive writing instrument is presented in
an elegant case together with a booklet and certificate.
