    Namiki really knows how to
differentiate themselves from other pen manufacturers by dusting so much
gold onto the box. In a quick glance, it stands out from the crowd and from
miles away you would have guessed that this is Namiki since Maki-e is very
much associated with gold dust. Very clever design, simple, cheap to produce
and an icon for Maki-e. I think in the future, all Namiki pens would come
    with gold dust box.....

In my opinion, this box is much
better than the 1998 Panda LE. At least the finishing is better. And yep!!
You are right, it is lacquered. The lacquer box can be quite expensive. If
you have the Pilot 80th Anniversary LE, then you would know what I mean
since the boxes are about the same.

Just want to show you what you
will get when you receive the pen. Namiki logo can be seen underneath the
    lacquer box cover.

Must check when you receive the
ink bottle, must check for the Eagle's cap. Sometimes the factory shipped
the ink bottle with ordinary cap. Then you have to ask for it. I think the
only LE without special cap was the Thunder God. In the case of White Tiger
and Panda. The factory has shipped many bottles with ordinary cap.

    View from another angle....Look
at the amount of gold dust!!!!

    Impressive 3D effect of the
    feathers, wave, claws...

    Beautiful wave....aggressive and
    full of gold dust.

Size 10 Solid gold 18K nib. One
    of the best writers.

As usual before I leave, let me
    give you something to digest.....
    Extracts from Namiki...
Soaring free in an azure sky, the Bald Eagle
keeps a watchful eye over its domain.
Birds of prey are quintessential symbols of
power, courage and freedom. Since 1789, the majestic Bald Eagle has been the
national bird and emblem of the United States.
Proudly independent, the bird with its beautiful
outspread wings graces the President's Flag, the mace of the House of
Representatives and U.S. currency. It is the most revered and featured bird
    in the Western Hemisphere.
Threatened, but no longer endangered, the Bald
    Eagle survives.
To commemorate the life of U.S’s national bird
and celebrate another century of its existence, Namiki has produced a
stunning work of art... The Bald Eagle Limited Edition Fountain Pen.
The Bald Eagle Limited Edition will consist of a
worldwide production of only 700 pieces, created entirely by hand,
individually numbered and signed by a master Maki-e artist.

eagle in a natural mountain habitat, gracefully swooping down from the sky
to snatch prey with its powerful talons-
