Grand Trio Maki-e F8 has been painted with heart using various traditional
techniques, Our Maki-e artists in
Japan
use only the finest genuine Urushi (100% natural lacquer) on ebonite
barrels.
Shishi
(Imaginary Lion) was regarded as the king of the beast and the symbol of
courage and magnificense. Its head is sacred and a ritual dance with a
lion’s mask is usually played at shrines for festivals. Taka Maki-e and
Togidashi Maki-e techniques are fully used with gold and platinum.
Maki-e
is an ancient 1000 year old Japanese art form. It is very valuable and
should be handled with care at all times. The entire process of Maki-e
requires two to six months or more to complete.
